Comments about Prevue Pet Small Animal Deep Tub Cage:
We recently inherited two rabbits which were in temporary, cramped cages. I researched the internet extensively to find the best setup that would allow the bunnies plenty of room to stretch and play, but also be easy to clean, easy to get our bunnies in & out and able to be stacked, if desired. Before my research, I was thinking outdoor hutch was the only way to go, but the more information I gathered, the more I decided that bunnies are best kept indoors away from prey, climate, etc. The cages (I ordered two - we have two males that fight) arrived promptly and it took about 10 minutes to assemble each cage. Our bunnies reside in separate cages in our garage (air conditioned on warm days & heated in the winter) The cages have a deep durable plastic bottom that keeps urine & feces within the cage, and most of the bedding/hay. Sometimes there are a few pieces lying outside the cage, but I feel that that is minimal compared to the mess a shallow pan would make as they are always digging in their bedding. The cages have a top opening and a front opening and I utilize both. I have recently ordered a third cage as we may purchase a female to breed for future 4-H projects. [...]
