    It would be great as a puppy cage for small pups too! My Maltese gets in there and lays with the bunny. My rabbit is cage trained so it's on the floor and she runs back and does her duty in the cage.

    Very cute indoor rabbit cage! The only complaint we have is that hay spills out everywhere! Rabbits need a lot of Thomas hay and you will need to purchase a separate hay dispenser. There is always a scattering of hay on the floor around our rabbit's cage that requires daily sweeping. I wish I would have purchased one with a solid plastic tub-like bottom to contain the hay better. I do like the slide out tray this cage provides; however, our little rabbit has to stand on wire mesh all day instead of nesting in a softer cotton bedding which is used in the plastic tub style cages. This cage is good for an indoor feeding/restroom for potty-trained bunnies that live outside as well. I would not recommend this as your primary or main indoor cage. It is sturdy and the metal is nice as rabbits like to chew. But it's too much of a mess for me to recommend to anyone else!

      The PERFECT home for Peter my lionhead bunny! We couldn't be happier.
      I had to come back and order a new one for his daughter.
      I would recommend this cage to any bunny owner seasoned or new.

          As a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, I am always on the lookout for innovative caging. A long time user of Kennel-aire cages I was very impressed by this cage and the Hayneedle price is great! Although, in my opinion this is a small cage for a rabbit ( mine has a Kennel-aire 48" professional cage with a multilevel hutch inside) it is a wonderful size and I see potential for for a number of different uses. Currently, it is the home of a pigeon, recouperating from a broken leg. It is large enough for several perches, a nest basket and even a swing, so I could easily see using this as a home for doves and larger birds and I like the idea that it can be broken down and nicely compacted for storage.
