The Boomer & George Deluxe Chicken Coop is so versatile and spacious, you'll wish your own home was just like it. This two-tiered chicken coop is crafted of durable Fir and has two doors for easy access to your chickens. The top portion gives your chickens a little privacy for laying eggs, a large enclosed living space gives them a place to ruffle their feathers, and one section of the roof comes off to make cleaning the interior a whole lot easier. A ramp leads from the top level to the caged lower level where your chickens will have space to stretch their talons. Indoors and out, they're gonna love their new pad. It is small; we have 3 hens living in it.
My husband added some hook & eye latches and barrel latches to the doors for added security ( to preempt any activity by raccoons, foxes, weasels).
He also added 1 door to the coop. THe interior does not have a door at the ladder/ramp that leads down to the ground. At night, we send the hens in and latch this door that he built.
ALso, if you buy a standard sized waterer, you will find that it does not fit easily through the bottom screened door. It fits, but not easily.

I purchased this coop to hold two bantams and two easter eggers. The assembly of the product was quick and easy. The instructions were easy to understand. I am disappointed in the lack of sturdiness of the product. It moves and wiggles when you push on it a little. I will need to invest in a larger, more permanent coop this summer. I don't foresee this coop lasting long or through much weather. You will need to upgrade two latches and install some type of predator proof flooring or skirting. I am concerned how the coop will hold up in the winter or how warm it may or may not be during cold nights and snowy weather. [...] I will use this coop on a temporary basis, while I build my own sturdier, longer lasting coop this summer. I would not have bought this coop for this price if I had a chance to see it in person. It would make a great bunny house.

Easy to assemble. One small repair was needed for the roof. It would be helpful to add a door to the coop so chicken can be enclosed in the coop and stay warm at night.

I ordered this chicken coop for my 2 baby chicks. I read some of the reviews after I had already purchased the coop. I was very afraid that my coop would come to me damaged as my reviews stated theirs did. To my delight the coop came with minimal issues. The damage was not from shipping it was from the manufacturer. Some of the seams had buckled so we just used some wood glue to reinforce the area. The rest of the coop was in great condition. I would not suggest having more than 2 grown chickens in this size coop. It was a little small than I thought it would be. That is okay as I only have 2 chickens to put in there. The chicks are loving the space they have after being in a fish tank in the bathtub until this came. The delivery was fast we had it in 2 business days.

This is the first negative review that I've ever left for anything... To begin, 50% of the pieces had some level of damage. The cedar, although it looks and smells great, was exteremely fragile. Cracks, splits, etc. Some pieces were broken in half. Though it was so much work to unpack everything, I just decided to repair what I could and put it togehter anyway.
The next problem was that pieces were missing. The piece of wood that would attach one side of the cage to the rest of the coop, was not there. I'm going to have to buy the screws and drill some holes in what's there, but it clearly missing a piece with pre-driled holes. Also, there's no hinge supplied for the back nesting area. I don't know if that's standard, as this if my first coop, but the design seems flawed.
Third, the build itself seems incomplete. There is no bottom, not even mesh, to prevent predators from crawling underneath. I'm going to home depot in order to remedy this, at the same time I'm buying more screws, but it doesn't make sense to me.
I'm expecing this to fall apart quickly. When that happens, I'll do a little more research and spend a little more money. Or I might just make something myself. Either way, I would not recommend this.

A: The item will be shipped via Fed ex or UPS.
The items weighs 45ibs box dimensions 54l x 31W x 9H
To assemble the item it will take about 1-2 Hours depending on how familiar you are with assembling items.
Q2: Is this suitable for winter months?
A: The wood would be able to stand against the snow and rain. However, there is no insulation, so there is no way to keep the chickens warm
